Naot, which is said to be the largest Israeli shoe company, has agreed to take over Theresia Muck, an insolvent German producer of women’s comfort shoes. Noat, which is owned by Shamrock in the USA, will use Theresia M.’s head office in Bruckweiler as a platform to expand its own sales of men’s and women’s comfort shoes in Europe. Run by Kurt and Eckhard Muck, Theresia M. has been selling about 300,000 pairs annually, but only 35 percent have been marketed outside Germany. They have been made for the most part in other European countries. The staff has been reduced from 73 to 49 people in the course of the insolvency proceedings.
