Nicholas F. Martire, the former managing director of Elan Polo Europe, left the company and moved back to his native Montreal, where he has started his own company, called Pretty Ballerinas (Canada). The business is described as a private footwear brand management firm that is distributing two European branded lines for the moment: Pretty Ballerinas and Belstaff. Pretty Ballerinas is a successful women’s brand of Spain’s Jaime Mascaro, worn by celebrities. Martire will open the first North American store of Pretty Ballerinas in the Westmount area of Montreal in September. He will introduce Belstaff’s women’s shoes and handbags to Canada during the next fall/winter season, working with the Canadian clothing licensee of the brand, Triangle Impact.
