Nike is in court in Shanghai, China, for its case against two companies there that it says are infringing on its trademarked logo of the silhouette of Michael Jordan slam-dunking a basketball. Shanghai Century Lianhua Chengshan Supermarket Company sold sports pants featuring the logo, and bought them from Changhai Kangchen Garment Company, Nike claims. A Chinese newspaper reported that the attorney for the two defendants said they did not know the logos were similar, and added that their logo added the word «sports» in block letters, so it could not be mistaken for the Jordan logo. The case is ongoing.
