Nobrand, the unconventional Portuguese brand of shoes, opened its first franchised store in Medellin, Colombia, last autumn. Aegis, the local distributor, with whom the company has worked since 2014, plans to open a total of six stores in the Latin American country, starting with a store in Bogota in the first half of 2016. Aegis will also be covering sales in Chile and other South American markets. The distributor has its own retail store, where he sold Nobrand very successfully, before he decided to open a franchised mono-brand store last year. A retailer from Shanghai, where Nobrand has had a showroom for a year, also wants to open a franchised mono-brand store in the course of this year. Nobrand raised its sales by 10 percent in 2015 as compared to the previous year.
