Only 12 shoe companies participated in the Pre-GDS show during the CPD fair in Düsseldorf, which had more than 1,670 exhibitors. The number of visitors at the mammoth fashion fair grew by 5 percent to 46,000, or a total of more than 60,000 including visits to the permanent showrooms in town. CPD have decided to launch a menswear section of the fair, called HMD, next July 23-25. Meanwhile, the smiling Margit Jandali, who was briefly connected with the GDS before joining the management of CPD, has decided to leave Messe Düsseldorf after a long association. She had started the former Igedo fashion fair in Düsseldorf together with Manfred Kronen 27 years ago. Her functions will be taken over by Wolfgang May and Frank Schneider. May has been responsible for CPD’s growing menswear section.
