Pacific Brands, the Australian maker of apparel and footwear, has decided to cut its full-year dividend as a response to the deteriorating market. Instead of 0.17 Australian dollars (€0.084-$0.112), the dividend will be A$0.06 so the company can preserve capital and repay debt. In August the company reported a full-year profit of A$116.6 million (€57.5m-$77.0m), 10 percent higher than the previous year. Half-year results will be available in Feburary. Pacific Brands sells brands such as Hush Puppies, Mossimo, Berlei, Dunlop and Slazenger in Australia and Asia.
