Payless ShoeSource has rolled out a new line of shoes and accessories that are ecologically friendly as well as inexpensive. No item in the Zoe & Zac collection costs more than $30 for the consumer, and everything has been made from eco-friendly materials such as organic cloth, recycled rubber outsoles and water-based glues. The packaging uses 100 percent recycled shoeboxes and soy-based inks. Currently the line is made up of espadrilles, ballet flats, skimmers and flip-flops for women, but Payless expects to expand into men’s and children’s products in the future. The Zoe & Zac collection is available at 1,000 Payless shops in the U.S.. Through May 4, the company will donate $1 from each Zoe & Zac item sold to plant one tree in a Brazilian forest.
