Pentland Group has acquired yet another small British fashion brand, One True Saxon, which has annual sales of less than £3 million (€4.5m-$5.2m)in premium men’s apparel and footwear. It joins three other house brands – Red or Dead, Boxfresh and Clerk & Teller – plus the Ted Baker footwear license and Kickers’ distribution in the UK. One True Saxon’s three designers – Mark Bailey, Ian Paley and Ian Bergin – will remain with the brand, which they founded in 1998, but Pentland will take over its back office operations. Stephen Gill, formerly in charge of Ben Sherman’s footwear, will be responsible for the footwear lines of One True Saxon and Boxfresh.
