Peter Prange, chief executive of the Klauser/Salamander group, left the company as planned on June 1, but will support it in an advisory capacity. Uwe Gradias and Heinrich Traude who joined the executive board of the company on May 1, following the acquisition of Salamander Germany and Schuhaus Klauser by Ara Holding from the Prange family at the beginning of this year, will remain in their positions. Gradias will take over Prange's responsibilities for sales and business development. Traude will continue to be responsible for commercial management as well as logistics, human resources and IT. The Klauser/Salamander group controlled by Ara currently consists of 75 Klauser shoe stores and 52 Salamander stores in Germany, indicating that five Klauser shops and eight Salamander stores have been closed since the takeover. Klauser had been operating the Salamander stores in Germany under a contract signed with Ara in 2009, after the latter bought all of Salamander's retail and wholesale operations. Ara Holding recorded sales of €560 million in 2015. Figures for 2016 have not been published yet.
