Piper-Island Footwear Company launched four new footwear brands at the Footwear UK trade show and three others at the Premiere Kids trade show over the past two months. Founded by John McGinley in March this year, Piper-Island is a new entity that imports shoes from Mexico, with exclusive rights for these brands in Europe. The adults’ range comprises Umberto Luce, a line of trendy women’s boots; Loredano, a line of more classical women’s boots; Gabbiani, a range of women’s shoes, boots and bags; and Evolucion, a classic men’s shoe line that apparently received lukewarm reception. The three children’s lines are Mini Bubbles, Dinky and Coqueta. There are 1,344 different models and styles available in the Mini Bubbles range, which are all made-to-measure, with a 3-to-6-week lead time for orders. Dinky offers 60 models.
