Poseidon, a German start-up business created last September in Freiburg, presented a new e-commerce service for retailers at the GDS show in Düsseldorf this week. By means of a presentation device installed in the stores, end consumers can browse through the product range sold by the retailer. The presentation device is connected to a sales device used by the sales personnel in the store, which offers additional information on the product and its availability. The product range shown in the store can be digitally expanded and customers can order products that are not available in the store. The end consumer can choose whether to pay for the product in the store directly or whether he wants to pay for it at home, by scanning the QR code displayed in the presentation device, which is directly connected to the online store of the retailer. The software can be rented for a monthly fee of €79.
