PPR’s luxury goods branch, represented by Gucci Group, raised its sales by 10 percent to €711.5 million in the 1st quarter, ended March 31, with a 14.4 percent increase on a comparable basis. The Gucci brand and Bottega Veneta recorded increases of 14.2 and 46.7 percent, respectively, but Yves Saint Laurent went down by 3.6 percent in euros and up by 1.5 percent in local currencies. The other fashion brands had a sales gain of 9.8 percent. Disappointing analysts, PPR’s total consolidated sales grew by only 2.2 percent to €4.1 billion, with a 5.3 percent increase on a comparable basis.
