Prada rejected a report in the Sunday Times saying that the Italian fashion group is ready to sell out to a British businessman or to some private equity funds. The UK newspaper said that Richard Caring, who made his fortune supplying many of Britain’s leading clothes stores, is holding talks to buy the company. At least two private equity houses are also interested in Prada, according to the newspaper. Prada said there are no talks with Caring or private equity funds and it is still intent on considering a possible stock market flotation next year. Prada first tried to organize a Bourse listing in 2000, which was cancelled when equity markets deflated after the end of the internet bubble.
