Adidas announced a collaboration with Allbirds, the well-known American brand of sustainable footwear, to develop the sport performance shoe with the lowest-ever carbon footprint. The project will involve exploring recyclable material resources as well as the use of renewable energies in manufacturing and transportation. Adidas said the project is part of the brand’s efforts to reduce both its own and its suppliers’ CO2 emissions by 30 percent from 2017 levels by 2030 and to become completely climate-neutral by 2050.
