Cole Haan has released a new hiking boot as well as a sneaker from its collaboration with the comedian and writer Hasan Minhaj. Introduced back in September, the 4.ZERØGRAND Hiker ($250) comes in men’s and women’s versions and in a number of colorways. The brand calls it its “most advanced and technical boot to date,” noting the light weight, the outer layer of waterproof leather and suede, and the insulated lining. The uppers include triple-density GRANDFØAM cushioning, while the sole has a redesigned tread pattern for traction. According to Scott Patt, Cole Haan’s chief creative officer, the boots feel “more like sneakers” than hiking boots. More colors and patterns are due in December.

Meanwhile, Minhaj – with the advice of streetwear designer Jeff Staple and his agency, Reed Art Department – is designing the limited-edition Cole Haan x Hasan Minhaj Collection of men’s hikers and sneakers ($170 to $270). The collection’s second item will be making its debut in December. Like all of the collection’s other items, the GrandPrø Rally Court Sneaker will display the words “live” and “survive” in Urdu and the date Oct. 9, 2014, which was the day Minhaj auditioned for the American comedian Jon Stewart. Oct. 9 is also National Sneakers Day.

Both the Minhaj Collection and the 4.ZERØGRAND Hiker are available on and in certain U.S. and international Cole Haan stores.
