The Spanish brand Ecoalf and the French tire manufacturer Michelin have launched a loafer collection produced from waste rubber for the sole and plastic bottles for the upper.

The shoes’ knitted fabric upper is produced from a mix of 30 percent polyester and 70 percent of Ocean Yarn, which derives from plastic bottles collected from the sea. Ocean Yarn is part of Ecoalf’s ”Upcycling the Oceans” project. The unisex loafers will retail at €99.90 a pair.
