Wolverine has collaborated with Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery of Kentucky on a limited-edition boot, timing its release on Oct. 1 to coincide with that of the distillery’s bourbons. Made in the U.S., the boot is a cap-toe 1000 Mile silhouette with Horween Cavalier Squash leather, gold hardware and a metal tag to signal the special edition. The heel contains a wooden layer fashioned from American white oak barrels used to age Old Rip Van Winkle bourbons. The 1000 Mile x Old Rip Van Winkle retails for $400 on Wolverine.com, and all proceeds from its sale go towards the mikeroweWORKS Foundation Work Ethic Scholarship Program, which strives to fill what its founder, Mike Rowe, calls the “growing shortage of skilled tradespeople” in the U.S. Wolverine was founded 137 years ago and is now a division of Wolverine Worldwide.
