Allbirds, the Californian brand of sustainable footwear, has entered the South Korea market.
The brand was created in 2016 by Joey Zwillinger and Tim Brown with one model, the Wool Runner, which uses superfine merino wool from New Zealand.
Allbirds said that it had planned to enter the Korean market since the early days of its international expansion as it manufactures the Wool Runner in the South Korean city of Busan.
“We are excited to finally enter the Korean market and connect with our existing community here,” added head of international, Sandeep Verma.
The company launched its European operations in 2018. It now serves 35 countries and runs 21 stores worldwide.
