Finn Comfort, the German brand for comfort shoes that is owned by the Waldi Schuhfabrik, has adopted an electronic data exchange (EDI) program as an option for its clients. Business data can then be exchanged in a fully automated manner via an EDI interface. Finn Comfort will be supported by the European Clearing Center (ECC), an open electronic data interchange platform for footwear products sold in the German-speaking countries, and uses programs such as PRICAT for prices and product date, ORDERS and DESADV for electronic delivery reports as well as SLSRPT for sales reports. Finn Comfort also aims to use EDI to monitor the inventory of never-out-of-stock items and to prepare order suggestions. Automatic orders and notifications from retailers about sales can be handled faster and high-demand items can be delivered at very short notice.
