Obuv Rossii, a leading Russian footwear retailer, has appointed the country’s state-owned mail operator Russian Post its main logistics partner. The postal operator will be handling the delivery of orders from Obuv Rossii’s central warehouse to customers in Siberia.
Russian Post has the largest network in Russia, with more than 42,000 post offices, and is the country’s largest express delivery operator, according to Timur Efimov, Obuv Rossii’s e-commerce manager.
He indicated that the warehouse dealing with online sales is now open in Novosibirsk, from which goods will be delivered to 30 test outlets. ”The cooperation with Russian Post allows us to offer our customers rapid delivery of goods to any address, including our outlets, and issuing orders as soon as possible,” Efimov added.
Maxim Kryzhanovsky, deputy e-commerce director of Russian Post’s Siberian branch, stressed that the project is currently being tested in several Siberian cities, but is due to be fully rolled out in the region.
Obuv Rossii has embarked on plans to develop online sales in the coming years. According to the company’s plans, when the online marketplace reaches full capacity, it will help increase its overall retail revenue by more than 30 percent in the next two years.
