Venue Retail Group (VRG) is converting its Accent stores in Sweden and Morris stores in Norway to a new store concept which it has been testing since July 1 and currently has four pilot shops. The pilots have shown “a very positive development and we have received the answers we need,” said the group’s chief executive Lars Fins.

With the change of format, all Accent stores will be rebranded Rizzo, which is the group’s banner that sells shoes and accessories. VRG has also changed names to become Rizzo Group. The Norwegian stores will continue to operate under the Morris brand.

Accent and Morris have traditionally sold a range of handbags and suitcases as well as gloves. With the new concept, the group broadens the stores’ offering to include shoes, watches, jewelry and headphones. It will revamp about 100 locations by March 2021. In November and December, 19 stores will be reconverted in Oslo and in Sweden, in the provinces of Skåne and Östergötland.
