Retail News reports that Solebox should open a store in Amsterdam before the end of the year, bringing the striking German sneaker retail concept into the Netherlands. As detailed in the Dutch trade publication, Solebox currently trades with two stores in Berlin and one in Munich. An original Solebox feature in Berlin is the Solebot, a robotic arm that picks products from the storage room and brings them into the store. Last year it also launched the Solemart concept in the German capital, allowing consumers to sell second-hand sneakers or buy them from resellers. Retail News reports that the Solebox store in Amsterdam has a retail surface of about 220 square meters in center of the city. Several Dutch and foreign sneaker retailers are already competing in the Dutch market, from JD to Snipes, Sneakers and others.
