Retail sales of footwear reached an indicated level of $17.9 billion in Russia last year, according to a report by PMR Research, a market research company that focuses on Central and Eastern Europe. The study says that sales of clothing and shoes went up by 11 percent to $56 million in 2010, recovering from the financial crisis, with the mid-price segment outpacing the growth of the low-price segment. The market is expected to continue to expand at a slower annual average rate of 10 percent over the next three years.
