Rodolfo Zengarini has signed an agreement with Gai Mattiolo to develop a line of men’s shoes for the Italian designer. Mattiolo has also signed an agreement with Achille Pinto for scarves and ties in an aim to broaden his own range of products for men, and signed contracts for new lines for children’s and women’s accessories, glasses, jewellery and watches. Planned to be launched for Fall/Winter 2005/2006 season, Mattiolo’s new shoe collection will be presented in January at Zengarini’s showroom in Milan for distribution worldwide. Zengarini has also obtained a license to produce a footwear line for Les Copains, a fashion brand for young women owned by B.V.M., an Italian fashion group based in Bologna. The first collection for Spring/Summer 2005 will be presented at the next MICAM fair in Milan and in B.V.M.’s New York showroom. Founded in 1982, Zengarini reportedly made a turnover of €16 million in 2003 and expects to reach sales of over €21 million in 2004, with only one-quarter of the total sold in Italy. Its brand portfolio also includes men’s footwear collections for Calvin Klein, John Richmond, Alessandro dell’Acqua, Byblos and Iceberg.
