Ronald van der Vis will be the new chief executive of Esprit next July 22, in connection with the previously reported reorganization of the company’s top management (see previous issue). The 67-year-old Heinz Krogner will go back to his role as executive chairman. Van der Vis, a 41-year-old Dutchman, ran the Apollo Optik chain in Germany for several years until 2003, when he became CEO of its parent company, Pearle Europe, which manages 2,600 optical retail stores in 24 countries.
