Sabelt, Italian leader in the production of safety belts for Formula One cars, is launching a new shoe for this Fall-Winter season made of Nomex, a technical fiber used, among other things, for pilots’ outfits. Sabelt has aslo developed for the same season a complete new line of children’s shoes, made in Italy by contract manufacturers, with annual sales targeted at around €20 million. The group’s footwear ventures are the brainchild of Gregorio Marsiaj, the son of the owner, and will be proposed on a growing number of export markets. After the opening of company-owned stores in Milan and Paris, the USA is next in line, with distribution through major department stores and a possible concept store in the short-term.
