Salvatore Ferragamo will raise this year by about 30 percent its communication expenditures, which represented nearly 10 percent of sales in 2005. It will also open a dozen new stores around the world, adding to a network of 221 doors that generate around 70 percent of its total turnover. Five openings are planned in China alone, and two others in India. The Italian company reports a 12 percent sales increase for 2005 to €575 million, with footwear and leathergoods representing 38 and 29 percent of the total, respectively.
