Santander U.K. is partnering with JD.com, one of China's largest B2C e-tailers, to help British brands expand into China's retail and consumer market. The announcement comes after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in July 2016. The agreement will allow small and medium-sized business customers at Santander with turnover exceeding £10 million (€11.3m-$13.5m) and international trading experience to launch stores on JD.com. The online marketplace can count on a customer base of more than 266 million people and an extensive delivery network. Yves Saint Laurent has recently joined the platform by launching on JD.com's Toplife. Meanwhile, Alibaba, JD rival e-commerce site, features other luxury brands such as Gucci, Burberry, and Hugo Boss.
