Seven of the 36 Salamander stores in Austria, including three in Vienna, have opened a corner featuring up to 100 styles of Richter shoes, to the exclusion of any other types of children’s shoes. Described by the Austrian press as a reaction to an exclusive contract by Stiefelkönig with Geox for children’s shoes, the deal is giving a certain boost to Richter’s parent company, the Shoe & Shirt Group, as it recovers from an unfortunate investment in GBB in France. A temporary insolvency caused bottlenecks that led to late deliveries of part of Richter’s collection, whose sales for the year ending next Apr. 30 are expected to drop to about 1.35 million pairs from 1.6 million pairs the year before
