Severino Artioli, who set up Calzaturifico Star in Vigevano in 1945, died last Sept. 9 at the age of 99, only 6 months before celebrating his 100th birthday. The Italian entrepreneur, who held many important roles in the Italian footwear industry, continued to work for his family’s men’s footwear company until the end. His son Vito Artioli and his own family are still very active, too. He is a vice president of ANCI, the Italian shoe industry association.
