Shoepassion is merging with one of its suppliers of men's shoes, Heinrich Dinkelacker. Shoepassion will own 100 percent of the shares in Dinkelacker, but the latter's former owners – Norbert Lehmann, Wendelin Wiedeking and Anton Hunger – are becoming shareholders of Shoepassion. Wiedeking and Hunger, who previously worked for Porsche, and Lehmann, formerly with IBM, took over the company in 2005. Founded as a pure e-commerce player for its own collections of Hungarian-style men's shoes in Berlin in 2008, Shoepassion has developed a network of six physical stores in Germany and opened web stores in six other countries. Dinkelacker has been in the market since 1879, and it has had its own factory in Budapest since the 1960s.
