Sioux, the German casual footwear brand taken over by the Egana Goldfeil group last December, is reportedly profitable again. The brand, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, improved its sales by 10 percent in volume and by 6 percent in value in the extraordinary 5-month fiscal year ended last May 31, followed by a 12 percent increase in volume and value during the following two months. Frank Ott has returned to Sioux as marketing manager and German sales director, after an absence of 6 years. The former marketing manager, Walter Fetzer, has retired along with Helmut Hensel, in charge of data processing.
