Italy’s Sixty Group plans to open the first store featuring only the footwear collections of its three young fashion brands – Energie, Miss Sixty and Killah – in Belfast next October or November, occupying a surface of about 70-80 square meters. Sixty is looking for franchise partners to open similar footwear-only stores in the UK and other locations around the world including Latin America, where the new concept was going to be tested out originally.
Using a concept showcased at the MICAM fair in Milan last March, the group has already established dedicated footwear corners in two Hong Kong stores and 5 others in China. Run by Enrico Pesallaccia, the group’s fast-growing footwear division showed separately from the clothing division at the Bread & Butter fair in Berlin earlier this month and will have a special presentation in the Venetian Hotel’s V-Bar during the WSA show in Las Vegas.
Sixty Group’s footwear division has increased its staff on the product management and sales side to cope with its strong sales growth. In 2003 the division reached sales of €32.84 million with the sale of 1,144,134 pairs of shoes under its three brands, led by Miss Sixty with revenues of €20.2 million and a volume of 654,667 pairs. The Energie and Killah brands generated footwear sales of €8.48 million and €4.15 million, respectively. In the previous year Sixty Group had only sold 495,000 pairs worth €16.4 million.
