Skinie, a new fashion-oriented brand of shoes from Australia for babies and children up to the age of five, is entering the European market through United Brand Management, a distributor based in Manchester, England, which is now looking for distribution partners in the rest of Europe. Launched in 2009 by an Australian designer, Natasha Barber, and manufactured by an ethical factory in China, the line raked up sales of 25,000 pairs in her native country last year. A few children's shops across Europe ordered parts of the line at last year's Kind & Jugend fair in Cologne, but United Brand Management is trying to enter the shoe retail circuit by exhibiting at next month's Moda UK fair in Birmingham. The Skinie line will be extended next year to be worn by children up to the age of nine.
