Spanish shoe manufacturers saw their exports decrease by 6.10 percent in value and by 11.52 percent in volume during the first nine months of 2005. Imports grew by 20.21 percent in value and by 28.89 percent in volume, but the country maintained a small positive trade balance of €188.8 million. Lower exports worth €1,331.6 million compared with imports worth €1,102.9 in the 9-month period. In terms of volume, imports of 203.9 million pairs were much higher than exports of 78.9 pairs.
