Stahl, the Dutch specialist in leather and performance coatings and dyes, and Applied DNA Sciences have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to accelerate the use of molecular tagging in leather supply chains. Under the terms of the deal, the two parties will evaluate the molecular tagging of process chemicals and coatings using Stahl's products as a point of entry into supply chains for Applied DNA's molecular tags. The MOU is expected to lead to a definitive agreement. Applied DNA Sciences, based in Stony Brook, New York, develops and employs technologies aimed at preventing counterfeiting.
