Start-rite has announced that Stephen Riley has joined the company's board as non-executive chairman. The move follows the announcement in October that Peter Lamble, Start-rite's chairman and chief executive, is to step down from the business after 25 years. Riley brings international consumer and brand experience. He has worked with Denby, a pottery and tableware manufacturer, as well as the sports equipment supplier Gilbert Rugby and Sealskinz, a company specializing in waterproof and windproof clothing. James Southall & Co, Start-rite's parent company, is looking for a new chairman and CEO. Lamble will remain until the new appointments..
