Steve Madden has acquired Dolce Vita Holdings for $60.3 million in cash, plus an earn-out provision based on the future performance of the U.S. company, which had sales of around $111 million in the last financial year. Madden says it will use its proven business model and infrastructure to expand the business of Dolce Vita, described as a company that offers “superior design” in its branded and private label footwear. The U.S. company sells it to specialty boutiques, better department stores and online. Its brands include Dolce Vita, DV by Dolce Vita, DVB and JD Fisk. Its founders, Van Lamprou and Nick Lucio, will remain involved in the operation.
