Strong growth for Bogs in North America and Florsheim in Australia were insufficient to prevent a 3.0 percent drop in total revenues to $62.9 million at Weyco Group for the second quarter ended June 30. Operating profit fell by 8 percent to $3.4 million, but net earnings were flat at $2.2 million. In North America, wholesale revenues declined by 18 percent for the Nunn Bush brand and by 8 percent for Florsheim, but were steady for Stacy Adams. North American retail sales dropped by 2 percent to $5.3 million, but same-store sales were up by 4 percent at Florsheim stores. Together, Florsheim Europe and Florsheim Australia had 5 percent higher sales of $12.8 million in the quarter, generating an 18 percent higher profit of $1.1 million, thanks mainly to the improved performance of the stores in Australia.
