Su Chaoying is the new president of the China Leather Industry Association, taking on a five-year term. In addition, Li Yuzhong has been named vice president and general secretary of the group. The former president, Zhang Shuhua, is retiring but she will keep the title of honorary president, and will continue to lead the International Council for Hide Skins and Leather Traders' Association. She recently said that China's leather sector should target annual growth of 12 percent for the next five years. In 2010, the industry exported semi-finished leather worth $408 million, leather footwear worth $8.3 billion, and leather garments worth $780.8 million.
