Sutor Mantellassi, the Italian producer of high-end men’s shoes, has brought in new investors with the goal of trebling its sales by 2008 with the opening of new stores and a diversification into women’s shoes. The Mantellassi family has raised the company’s equity from €1.1 million to €4.4 million, while an investment fund, SICI, has taken over a 30 percent stake. The company had a gross operating margin (EBITDA) of 16 percent last year on sales of €10 million.
