Taiwan has imposed a temporary 43.46 percent anti-dumping duty on footwear of all kinds imported from mainland China with the exception of any shoes coming from one producer in Guangdong Province, which was proved blameless in an anti-dumping investigation carried out by Taiwanese officials. The investigation, which began in 2006, found that cheap imports from China were hurting Taiwan’s domestic industry. The duties will initially be in place for four months.
