Tapestry has established a deal to sell its shoes through Tmall, the big Chinese e-commerce platform owned by Alibaba. Its three major brands – Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman – will have stores in Tmall's Luxury Pavilion. The American luxury and accessories group currently draws less than 20 percent of its revenue from China. It hopes the deal will boost those sales and give its Data Labs a clearer look into the Chinese market. According to Noam Paransky, chief digital officer, this is the first step in Tapestry's “new ChinaNext digital innovation agenda.”
