The Adidas Group has promoted Tobias Reiss-Schmidt, 38, to the position of president and chief executive of Rockport, with effect from July 1. He will continue until then as senior vice president of Rockport for global retail and the Americas. Reiss-Schmidt has been with the company since 2008, holding various executive positions in business development, global retail and regional sales management. Prior to that, he worked for the Boston Consulting Group and in the international marketing department of Beiersdorf. At Rockport, Reiss-Schmidt will take over the top slot from Michael Rupp, who is going to leave in June to act as the new chief executive of Jack Wolfskin, a fast-growing German outdoor company. Rupp has been with the Adidas Group for almost 25 years.
