The Art Company has named David Bertrand country coordinator for France, replacing Michel Gut, who has moved to Wolverine France to take care of its Heritage Brands. Bertrand, 38, has been in charge of key accounts and sales for companies such as Timberland, Murphy & Nye and Fila. France has traditionally been the biggest foreign market for Art, but Germany is about to overtake it thanks to a very good development in the last months. The Spanish company is also recording sales increases in the U.S., where it has a new distributor, Sole Mio. Jorge Hernandez Rivero, sales and marketing manager of the Spanish footwear company, is budgeting a sales increase of between 4 and 5 percent for the financial year ending next June, with higher export sales offsetting a decrease of similar magnitude on the Spanish market, where its business is growing with major players such as El Corte Inglés.
