The classic moccasin of Tod's is about to don laces in a sneaker version called Owens, in honor of Jesse Owens, the champion athlete who earned 4 gold medals at « Hitler’s Olympics » in 1936. Diego Della Valle’s group aims thus to widen its consumer target to bring in younger consumers from 20 upwards. The Owens model will be on sale in Tod’s stores from February 2005 at €285. For youngsters of all ages the brand has injected plenty of color into its classic suede loafers with their 133 rubber dots. For the first time, the men’s models will be available in strong colors such as bright red, saffron yellow and grass green.
