The fashion and leathergoods division of LVMH raised its sales by 6 percent to €1,135 million in the 1st quarter, with a 10 percent increase in local currencies for its continuing operations. Louis Vuitton continued to achieve double-digit organic sales growth, returning to growth in Japan and making a good start of the year also in Europe. Among the other fashion brands, Berluti, Celine, Marc Jacobs and Pucci performed well, and Fendi saw its stores record double-digit increases. Beating the estimates of some analysts, who have feared a slowdown for Vuitton, LVMH reported a 10 percent sales increase for the whole group to €3,082 million, or an 11 percent increase on an organic basis.
