The first Footwear Materials, Manufacturing and Technology fair (fMM&T) in New Delhi, India, last month is considered a success by its organizers. APLF and UBM India, which ran the show, say that 3,249 buyers from 16 countries visited it, coming from India as well as countries such as China, Italy, Taiwan, the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates. They included distributors or leather materials, product developers, designers, brand owners, importers and exporters, and manufacturers or footwear, leather apparel, handbags, small leathergoods and travelwear. There were 140 exhibitors from areas with significant leather industries including Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and the U.S. The next edition of the show will be held on May 7-9, 2010, again at the India Expo Center in New Delhi.
