The flagship department store of Selfridges in London is set to triple the size of its men's shoe department from its present size of 5,497 square feet, making it easier for customers to shop through a presentation by categories instead of brands, says Drapers magazine. The number of brands would increase to 250 from 165, with purchasing being taken over by Kurt Geiger, which is already taking care of buying for Selfridges' offerings of women's shoes. The overhaul would go with a planned extension of the store and would follow the success of the Shoe Galleries, the enlarged women's shoe department launched at the Oxford Street store in September 2010.
