The Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA) and TÜV SÜD have updated the Global Footwear Product Safety Guide, which covers chemical and physical testing requirements as well as proposed protocols for shoes. The update is the result of the work of FDRA's Product Safety Enhancement Committee with several company executives and managers, to gather their views on product safety management, and of the collaboration with TÜV SÜD, thanks to its specific technical expertise. The FDRA is the trade association that represents the majority of footwear manufacturers and around 90 percent of the industry in the U.S. TÜV SÜD, headquartered in Munich, is a provider of safety, quality and sustainability solutions, specializing in testing, inspection, auditing, certification, training and knowledge services. The updated Global Footwear Product Safety Guide is available online at http://globalfootweartesting.com.
